In short, it was a miracle. It was a miracle that we were led to the Cleveland Clinic. My husband suffered from dizzy spells, a gaited walk, falling, and loss of cognitive skills for over 2 1/2 years. He was on the floor unconscious twice. He was hospitalized twice. EMS had been to our house at least 5 times. In our hometown, he saw 3 neurologists, a cardiologist, an internist, and had a hearing evaluation. He had every conceivable test at least once, and some as many as 3 times without an offer of any solution. Our daily schedule was controlled by his illness. He could no longer take walks or for that matter get from the car to the grocery store without having a severe shaking spell and a subsequent falling spell.
Upon arriving at Cleveland Clinic and seeing the neurosurgeon, he looked at a MRI that we carried from
1 ½ yr prior. He saw the blockage (Obstructive Hydrocephalus) in his brain immediately. He ordered another MRI to confirm the facts. On Oct 6, 2006 my husband had brain surgery called Third Ventricular Endoscope. The next day he was released from the hospital and the following day we drove 360 miles to our hometown.

The doctor had warned me that it may be 1-2 weeks before we would see an improvement. When I walked into the recovery room, three hours after his surgery, I could see it in his face and hear it in his conversation. Now it has been only 2 weeks since the surgery, and I have the man back that I married. He is normal in every sense. He walks normal, his energy is back, and he carries on a real conversation. We can get out and take a daily walk. He takes care of our bank account, does some repairs around the house, etc.

Thanks to the expertise of The Cleveland Clinic, we have our life back
