My father, thanks to polycystic kidney disease suffered through dialysis treatment for a couple of years. My mother's sister, without hesitation and without my father's knowledge underwent testing to become a living organ donor. In January 2004 my aunt donated her kidney to my father.

Without hesitation my father planned the vacation of his dreams. Without hesitation he went back to enjoying life again and all of the things he couldn't do when on dialysis.

Without hesitation my father sent my aunt on the vacation of her wishes that same summer.

My sister, brother and 13 year old niece have polycystic kidneys too. Without a cure for the disease, they too, will one day need a kidney transplant. When that time comes, I will undergo testing to see if I am a match without hesitation.

Without hesitation my family will return to the Cleveland Clinic.

Without hesitation I tell anyone who will listen about the importance of organ donation.
