Cleveland rooftops through the windows of the solarium on M71.

Reflection as my eyes look down and catch the cascade of my white pants gently falling on my nursing clogs.

Reflection of a career not long ago where suits and high heels were the uniform. Reflection of the second chance I have been afforded through a new career in nursing. Reflection of the second chances not afforded to my patients on M71 Palliative Medicine.

Reflection of how fortunate I am to touch patients in all the ways a nurse can.

Reflection of all the patients I thanked for allowing me the privilege of touching them…physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Reflection that this may very well be the last time we exchange a word, a glance, a smile.

Reflection of the most rewarding career and the trust patients put into my hands every moment of every day.

Reflection of how proud I am to be a Palliative Medicine Nurse.
