“Mommy, I just want my mom!”

Those were the words spoken by a young girl emerging from anesthesia.

I work in the Pediatric Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Each day I strive to offer my expertise, patience, and compassion to children and their parents undergoing diagnostic and surgical procedures.

My most rewarding experiences have been the responses I’ve received through the patient comments via our daily post-op phone calls or the returned surveys. Just knowing I’ve made a small difference in alleviating anxiety, educating, or just being a listening ear makes the most hectic days much lighter.

Thanks for the comments.
