Ann's Letter

To my son, John,

I hope you will live in a world that is much kinder.

I hope that people will think about their actions so that the world becomes a better place. For example:

all farming is organic and free range so that animals have a natural life and live in harmony with nature;

nations realise that conflict and war do not solve anything and learn to live in peace with each other;

richer nations help poorer ones so that no-one is starving or displaced;

people are less materialistic and realise that living a simple life, without loads of stuff, will make them happier;

politicians stop caring so much about themselves, and work for the good of the people and the country;

there are better and cheaper public transport links so that people rely less on their cars and roads.

I hope this is the world that you and your children will one day have.
