Carol Archbold's Letter

Dear Carol,

The year is 2050 and I am 85 years old, perhaps the year that I die? I remember being taught about the ozone layer, global warming and loss of biodiversity when I attended my local comprehensive in 1982.

I look back with much regret, shame, guilt, anger and tears as we as individuals, families, communities, institutions, governments and nations didn’t do more. At 7 I knew the political map of the world and all its flags. Now, how I hate those flags, the wars, poverty, infighting, when we could have collaborated to built a better world for nature and a fairer world for human kind.

We had the means to change, why didn’t we?
