Clara 's Letter

To my future self,

I hope that the world leaders think about the future of the environment and not the future of the next election. How long will it be until venice is gone forever, taken by the sea. I’ve always hoped I’ll see it in my life time, I’m told not to worry, it won’t be gone for ages, but there will be a generation that never sees Venice and so many more places that will just be a memory. From global warming to global boiling, what’s next, I hope I won’t have to find out word sounds even more threatening so we’re interested enough to listen. I hope that when we act it’s not too late to change the world. Maybe one day there will be trees full of leaves where they were destroyed, thriving ecosystems in places we demolished.
