Hadyn's Letter

To older me,

I don't know what the future holds for you.

Perhaps, it'll be one where we can laugh at all that has happened, and maybe we will be able to simply move on with our lives. This is the future I want, but I don't believe this will be the case.

We both know that I love nature, after all, I spend every weekend just walking. But will there be nature left for you to ramble through? I don't know, but I hope so.

What happens further down the line? Will I be able to live out my life until time has escaped me? Or will it be cut short?

Will I make it to 75? Or even 50?

Will I be able to achieve my dreams? Will I have the time?

Will I just be left to try and survive, living on a shell of what used to be?

I don't know whether we can change things around at this point. I don't know whether politicians will listen, whether companies will end their greed, whether technology will offer a way out.

But, for your sake, I hope the answers are yes. I hope that there is something, anything, left.

But I'm scared nothing will be.
