Hilary's Letter

To my grandchildren,

I hope that in the time between me writing this for #LettersToTomorrow and you reading it, people will have completely changed their way of life.

For decades we were warned about the consequences of the way we live now - global heating, damage to biodiversity, whole areas of the world becoming uninhabitable.

In spite of all the evidence of rising temperatures and extreme weather events, governments still haven't shown they are taking the situation seriously by setting out coherent strategies to achieve decarbonisation and keep the promises they have made in the past.

We are relying on climate campaigners to wake the general population up to see how their lifestyles are damaging the planet.

For your sakes we hope and pray they have been successful.
