Jeanne's Letter

To my future grandchild,

Have we made a mess of this world? Have we squandered our duty of stewardship? Did we not lobby our governments enough?
I wish for you the carefree childhood I enjoyed. Climbing trees, damming the stream with rocks to make a waterfall, listening to birdsong. Even in my lifetime I see these things disappearing. But I cling to the hope that we turn things around, mankind will come to its senses and you too will enjoy The things I did. That’s if you exist at all.
