Kathryn Graves's Letter

To my friends' child, Alexander,

You have just turned two, and you're a bright, little boy learning about the world around him. You already love watching the birds that visit your garden. I hope that you get to experience a world less impoverished in nature than the one I grew up in.
I hope when you are grown that you have political leaders who inspire your trust and who are working together for a better future for all.
I hope that you don't have to be fearful of what the future may hold, or have a heart, like mine, filled with sadness in the face of a declining natural world.
I hope that my generation will act in time to stop runaway climate change and that your generation can continue to care for and protect this precious world.
