Lorna's Letter

To the descendants of the wonderful birds in my garden,

Your ancestors have given me such pleasure and joy over so many years, their cheerful songs, watching them on the feeders and the way the blue tits work so hard to feed their young and the delight to see them fledge. it is a delight.

My heart is heavy that in the future the birds and other wildlife may be gone forever, and I am so sorry for the way we have not cared for our world as we should have, we have ignored the warnings and pressed regardless and not caring for our environment. My hope is that it is not too late and that pledges made will be kept, that warnings heeded and that you, the descendants of my wonderful birds, will still be giving delight to the future generations of people, that your songs will still shine.
