Marta's Letter

To future generations (if there are any),

I'm sorry that you were born at this time, when people let their only planet die. I'm sorry that you have to deal with climate catastrophy, because humanity was too blind and too greedy to deal with it sooner. I'm sorry your life and well-being are at risk, and your basic needs might not be met. I hope we can fix it somehow. We will try. I hope we win.
Our planet does not need us. It can survive without us. It would take thousands or millions of years, but nature would recover eventually. But not us. We need our planet, we need nature, we need them to survive. We cannot live without them. And so we need to act.
