Mary's Letter

To my future grandchild ,

My dear one

I don't know you yet but I hope one day I will. I wonder what the world will be like for you. I hope and pray you will be able to enjoy fresh air, green fields, birdsong and walking in the woods, as I have done.

I am afraid the world will not be such a good place for you. I am sorry we haven't done more to safeguard our planet, to protect it from the damage caused by people being unthinking, uncaring and selfish. I hope as more people realise the gravity of the situation in 2022 that there will be the will, and time, to slow this damage so that you, and people all over the world, are able to live less troubled lives and enjoy the world as it was meant to be.

In sorrow and hope
your Gran
