Roger Knight's Letter

To my grandson Alexander,

Dear Alex,

I have long been aware of the danger of allowing CO2 emissions to cause climate change and fitted solar panels on my former home. I also invested money with the company proposing to build a series of tidal lagoons to generate power from the large tidal flows in the Severn Estuary.
Sadly the latter project has been halted by UK government on highly questionable grounds.
I was pleased to see many wind turbines on our welsh hills, but sorry that England seems to have very few, despite the recognised low cost of power produced.
I fear that the lack of action by government and people of the UK, of my generation, will be responsible for every problems in your lifetime, and for future generations. I often wonder whether I could have done more to promote more and better action.
There is still a little time to make changes, but not much!
