Sanna's Letter

Ellie, my granddaughter and any future grandchildren,

An apology; our generation has failed to leave for yours the beautiful sustainable world we arrived into.

I fear to imagine what your life and that of your contemporaries will be like, to the extent that although I have longed for grandchildren, I also understand why my children are reluctant to have children themselves and I am almost relieved that you are likely to be the only grandchild.

My hope for you is that a miracle will happen and that your life will be better than my expectations.

I would like you to know that to the extent I was able, I campaigned and acted to reduce my impact on the world and to encourage politicians and others to do the same.

With Love

Sanna
